The Center on Education and Training for Employment (CETE) recently welcomed Kevin Williamson to his new role as Systems Specialist, where he is responsible for managing computer equipment and systems and providing general technical support at CETE.

Kevin Williamson serves an integral role on the CETE team.

When asked what was most appealing to him in this role, Williamson said, “I am most excited to learn more about all the systems and applications here at CETE. As a tech enthusiast, new technology has always been fascinating to me.”

With his many years’ experience working in IT and exposure to common computer issues, Williamson has learned to identify the root cause of system issues and find working resolutions.

Williamson is a member of CETE’s Steering Team for the Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) Movement. REDI is designed to increase CETE community members’ knowledge and skills relevant to the posture and practice of cultural humility, identify and establish anti-racist norms, practices, and policies at CETE, and contribute to the dismantling of institutional racism within CETE’s spheres of influence

“The Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Movement (REDI) is a great initiative and a push to achieve equality in society. It is a very unique opportunity to be a part of a group that tackles such strong issues and the fact that I can contribute to work that will help build a better future is very appealing to me.” Williamson said.

In his free time, he enjoys biking, gaming, new technology, discovering new music, and spending time with his family. Williamson is from Westerville, Ohio, and is currently pursuing a degree in Computer and Information Sciences with a focus on Web Development.
