Shaker Heights Family and Community Engagement Audit

The Shaker Heights Family and Community Engagement Audit process was designed to provide the Shaker Heights School District with actionable data and information regarding the District’s articulated values and priorities. The focus of the effort included family and community engagement and the intersection with structures, policies, and systems within the district that support consistent and sustainable family and community engagement practices; organizational processes that ensure that engagement is effective and aligns with the work of the district and focused on student learning, and school improvement; and the District’s effectiveness to systemically promote, implement, and measure engagement practices. Project methodologies employed by the Center on Education and Training for Employment Associates included logic modeling, survey design and dissemination, and collection of evaluation data through focus groups. The project culminated in the production of an executive summary and a comprehensive report designed to serve as a vehicle for documenting findings to inform data-driven strategic planning and continuous program improvement efforts. Additionally, recommendations for implementation and future evaluation were provided.
