Translational Research
Our Center's approach to Translational Research focuses on the goal of solving societal problems. These are solved through the implementation of an evidence-based intervention that informs policy development, which results in the widespread use of proven practices.
A Translational Research Center with a Vision to Transform Research into Reality
The Center on Education and Training for Employment’s (CETE) approach to translational research focuses on the goal of solving societal problems. These are solved through the implementation of an evidence-based intervention that informs policy development, which results in the widespread use of proven practices.
Translational research encompasses research and issue-resolution activities that directly benefit human beings across various domains (e.g., education, workforce development, racial and social justice, and health).
CETE’s translational research approach (Julian et al., 2021) includes six essential components:
- Problem Definition & Goal Setting
- Development of Alternative Solutions
- Establishment of Criteria for Selection
- Selection of a Solution
- Solution Implementation
- Monitoring and Evaluation (Intervention Improvement Planning)
The Center on Education and Training for Employment’s Translational Research approach is described in Common Models and Sub-Processes Inherent to Translational Research: Public Health Examples of Science for the Public Good (Julian et al., 2021).
