AI in the Classroom: Empowering Teaching, Enhancing Learning in K-12 Contexts

CETE’s Curriculum and Training program area offers professional development designed to strengthen educators’ capacity to incorporate emerging technologies into teaching and learning. We support instructors and administrative staff across educational settings in developing foundational knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) and exploring how AI tools can enhance both instructional practice and day-to-day professional tasks.

Through our interactive presentations and hands-on learning experiences focused on AI literacy, ethical use, and instructional applications, participants investigate effective ways to integrate AI into lesson planning, assessment design, and student-centered learning.

We guide participants as they work in small groups using their own devices to explore AI platforms and apply new concepts. Activities encourage participants to practice prompt development, experiment with AI tools, and discuss implications for responsible use in educational settings.

We can tailor our in-person training to your organization’s needs so that your educators have an essential understanding and practical experience using AI as both an instructional partner and an administrative support. If your organization might benefit from a similar learning experience, email us at CETE-CATS@osu.edu.

“One of the best hands on and classroom driven professional development sessions that I have had the opportunity to attend. I have suggested it to fellow teacher and my own daughter who is in her last year in college for early and special education.”
