Marvin Evans

Marvin Evans is currently a second year dual degree student at The Ohio State University. He is pursuing a PhD (with university fellowship, scholarship, and assistantships) in Educational Psychology, a Master of Learning Technologies and an interdisciplinary specialization in Quantitative research methods.

He is a Caribbean National and completed his Master of Science in Computer Science (with Distinction) at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona in July 2019 and was the Valedictorian among a graduating class of teachers from The Mico University College where he received a Bachelor of Education specializing in Computer Science (First Class Honors) in 2015.

Marvin is a first-generation university student and he taught Mathematics and Computer Science up to grade 13 for four years at a well ranked all-girls high school in Kingston, Jamaica. His research and career interests are geared around classroom technology integration, instructional design, curriculum development, project management and teacher technology training especially for persons in underrepresented populations (such as Caribbean nationals) who have limited opportunities for advancements in academia.

He is working with Dr. Ana-Paula Correia on a NIH funded project that aims to support educational activities that complement and/or enhance the training of a diverse workforce to meet the nation’s biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs. For more information check: The Toxicology Mentoring and Skills Development Training Program.
