Zack Batsaikhan, MSc

Batzaya (Zack) Batsaikhan, MSc, is a Senior Learning Designer at the Center on Education and Training for Employment, where he designs digital learning experiences and educational products that are intuitive, human-centered, and impactful. His work spans a range of projects, including Mental Health Learning Modules for Ohio’s Educators and School Personnel; Future Fluent Families, an AI literacy curriculum for families and adolescents in central Ohio; Advancing Ohio’s English Learners (AOEL); the website redesign of the DACUM International Training Institute and Curriculum and Training Program; Ohio’s Parent Mentor Project; and others. He has also contributed to the design and development of the “Quality Assurance in Ohio Adult Protective Services” online training module and its videos.

Zack is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Learning Technologies at The Ohio State University. Before pursuing his doctorate, he spent a decade as a UX Designer and Researcher, working on consumer-facing technology products and digital experiences. He earned his M.Sc. in Human-Computer Interaction from Iowa State University as a Fulbright Scholar and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. His research interests include reducing smartphone overuse and excessive screen time, human-computer interaction (UX/UI), learning experience design, and the UX of artificial intelligence.

He is a Fulbright Scholar (’12-’14), a Forbes Mongolia 30 Under 30 honoree (’15), a Rumsfeld Fellow (’19), and an alumnus of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers (’22). When he’s off the clock, he’s usually out exploring somewhere new, snapping photos, going for a run, getting into a hands-on DIY project, diving into a good TV show or a book, or just simply hanging out with family.
