Yesenia Alvarez Padilla, MSW

Yesenia Alvarez Padilla, Ph.D., is a Program Coordinator at the Ohio Statewide Family Engagement Center, part of the Center on Education and Training for Employment at The Ohio State University. Since joining the Family Engagement Center team in 2020, she has led initiatives to enhance research, professional development, and practical resources focused on family engagement and family financial literacy including Ohio Family Roadmap and the Money Talks project.

Yesenia holds a Ph.D. (2025) in Social Work from The Ohio State University where she focused on family financial literacy in Latine immigrant families. Prior to joining the Family Engagement Center (2020), Yesenia taught adult English learners and led programs to support first-generation college students. Originally from Reno, Nevada, she now lives in Columbus, Ohio, where she enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and long walks.
