Leslie Moore, PhD

Leslie Moore, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning and (by courtesy) the Department of Linguistics at The Ohio State University. Her research examines the social and cultural patterning of learning and language development in communities whose members use multiple languages and participate in multiple learning traditions.

An applied linguist and linguistic anthropologist, Dr. Moore uses ethnographic methods and Conversation Analysis, and she conducts mixed-methods research in collaboration with colleagues in Speech and Hearing Sciences. She also partners with science centers and children’s museums to improve informal science education for preschool emergent bilinguals and their families. Dr. Moore has served on the IRB since 2013.
