Corrections Career Technical Education Resource Specialist

The primary goal of this program is to support new career technical education teachers within the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction and the Ohio Department of Youth Services. The program consists of individualized support services tailored to the unique needs of each new career technical teacher as he or she comes to work in the correctional arena. Services entail assistance with career technical teacher license program enrollment, coursework continuation, classroom observation and feedback. Teachers are also assisted with license process questions and issues and support for the required end of resident education assessments.

In addition to assisting new teachers with licensure requirements, the program provides professional development opportunities to other groups within the adult and correctional field. Professional development assistance is available to mentor groups, adult education programs, and other entities seeking career technical licensure information and teaching expertise.
