Family-School Partnerships Survey

Schools can build a system for supporting family engagement and CETE can help through our Family-School Partnerships Survey services. The Family-School Partnerships Survey is designed to provide teachers, administrators, and other school staff with information directly from parents that can be used to foster positive school climate, family engagement, and student achievement. The act of asking parents to provide their perceptions of schools is an empowering partnership activity.

At CETE we recognize that family engagement matters. Families play a critical role in supporting children’s learning and healthy development, preparing children for school, guiding children through the school system, accessing learning opportunities outside of school, and supporting the transition to colleges and careers. Effective family engagement contributes to closing achievement gaps, improving school readiness and social skills, and increasing student achievement and the likelihood of graduation. Teachers and parents benefit as well.

Survey Features:

The survey can be conducted online, on paper, or using a combination of the two methods. The survey aligns with Title I parent involvement requirements for schools and enables them to integrate parent engagement strategies into their Ohio Improvement Process. Easily used by district and building leadership teams, the final reports contain graphics, tables, and text that explain meaningful comparisons between the survey items. CETE staff can also provide other analyses that drill down to important concepts to better understand a specific school or district.

CETE feels strongly that the data collected should remain in the hands of the schools and districts requesting the services. We assist in customizing the survey, cleaning and analyzing the data, and presenting and helping with interpretation of the results. Schools are in control of the process from beginning to end.

CETE provides districts and schools (Pre-K–12th grade) with:

  1. a fully customizable survey
  2. expert guidance through webinars or in-person workshops
  3. data entry, scanning, and analysis
  4. district- and building-level reports
  5. full access and ownership to data
  6. consultation and professional development for administrators, staff, parents, and other stakeholders
