The Ohio Aspire Professional Development Network (PDN) is a collaboration of content experts, trainers, and researchers who deliver and support evidence-based, high-quality, and effective in‐service professional development in areas of importance to nearly 1,000 Ohio Aspire professionals. In June of 2017, PDN staff members organized an edcamp-inspired event. This one-day networking event provided an opportunity for attendees to discuss best practices with other Ohio Aspire programs. Facilitators and participants were available to share both successes and challenges in order to start conversations. Two discussion sessions were offered for each topic (Career Pathways, Data, Hand-on Math Activities, Contextualized Curriculum, Distance Education, ESOL Instruction, Participatory Learning, and Recruitment) to allow participants to attend up to four sessions. Each session had a PDN facilitator guiding the discussion and a PDN note taker capturing the conversations. The PDN continues to share information and resources from the Best Practice Day event by using #OhioAspireBPD on Twitter and Facebook.
