Fan Xu

Fan Xu is senior learning designer at the Center on Education and Employment. Her work at the center will focus on the Advancing Ohio’s English Leaners project.

She is currently a PhD candidate of Learning Technologies at the college of Education and Human Ecology. Fan conducts her research with the Learning and Experience Design (LED) research group, investigating learning design processes and pedagogies to create deep learning in applied contexts. She recently presented her studies at the AERA 2022 annual meeting and the SITE 2022 conference. She earned her Master of Science (2018) at The University of Hong Kong and Bachelor of Science (2017) at Shanghai Normal University. 

Fan worked as a learning designer at Hong Kong, serving for higher education institutions, companies, and individual learners. She designed synchronous and asynchronous learning and training experiences with interactive technologies and data-driven assessment. She has also been involved with research projects initiated by the Southern University of Science and Technology University and UNESCO-ICHEI, advancing the use of educational technologies in developing countries in Asia and Africa.
